Slim Aarons worked primarily for society publications, photographing the rich and famous before and after his stint as a photographer for the U.S. military magazine Yank during World War II. His work was published in Town and Country, Holiday, Venture, and LIFE publications.
Aarons was known for his positive portrayal of the people he photographed and was invited to high society gatherings for that very reason. His subjects included American and European society, as well as the aristocracy and the big and small stars of the day.
