Since it was brought to Europe from Australia by British botanists in the late 19th century, the mimosa has conquered the Côte d'Azur. The radiant little flowers first adorned the splendid gardens of rich English families who spent their winters in Nice. Then the mimosa spread to the slopes of the Esterel, a mountain range on the Mediterranean coast. The fragrance of the wild plant is like its clusters - strong and delicate at the same time.
