Absolute authority: chin high, proud chest and a contemptuous attitude - the reign of the Sun King. Immortalized in a 7-meter-high monumental sculpture by François Girardon (1699), "Louis XIV à cheval" stood at the center of the Place Vendôme before the statue was pulled to the ground during the French Revolution in 1792. The bust, now housed in the Musée du Louvre, has been reproduced on a smaller scale but still stands tall. A legendary royal figure and messenger of French art, Louis XIV now reigns over Trudon's bust collection.
Almost too precious to be used, TRUDON's wax busts and sculptures are true works of art and are meant to be collected rather than used.
